The rate at which we ship products at Triple Whale is... FAST (shoutout to our world-class team of developers and product managers). To help everyone stay up to speed and informed moving forward, we're thrilled to be launching our first of many monthly product updates.

From now on, we will deliver a product update blog and newsletter every month that walks customers through the major features launched throughout the past 30 days – and how they can create value for your business. At the end of each monthly product update, we will include a sneak preview of the big features/updates expected to be released in the upcoming month.

The start of 2023 has been PACKED with transformative product updates, and last month was no different. Throughout April we introduced our first free product, gave customers the ability to chat with their business data, added in-app contextual banners, launched Ocean Mode (aka dark mode), and more. Since this is our first update, we will also cover some key product updates from the past few months that everyone should be aware of.

Are you ready? Let’s go!

The FREE Dashboard for Ecommerce Businesses

At Triple Whale, we have one mission: to help entrepreneurs and marketers create better businesses. That's why we're launching a streamlined version of the dashboard purpose-built to meet the needs of ecommerce operators.

Internally, we're calling it Free Willy 🐳

It centralizes your Shopify, Google Ads, Meta Ads, and Klaviyo data, helping you keep an eye on performance across your most important channels and uncover actionable insights.

And it’s free. Forever.

Whether you're sitting at your computer or in the warehouse fulfilling orders, you’ll know what's going on across your sales and marketing ecosystem. It’s peace of mind that won’t cost you a penny.

Our first cohort will be limited to 1,000 stores. Reserve your spot today.

ChatGPT + Triple Whale = Willy

Willy is an AI Ecommerce Assistant built on Triple Whale's own machine learning and powered by OpenAI. With Willy, analyzing, managing, and interacting with your business data is as easy as talking to ChatGPT, within Triple Whale!

You can use Willy in 2 distinct ways.

  1. Just like you would use ChatGPT, but within Triple Whale.
  2. As an ecommerce assistant to better analyze and interact with your business data (in other words, you can talk to your sales and marketing data).

In-app Contextual Banners

This update is simple but powerful. We released our first series of in-app contextual banners. Each banner features a brief description of its respective page and allows users to launch a video explaining how the page/feature works. We built these to provide users with more context and an easy way to learn about Triple Whale’s core features without having to leave the app. Check them out!

Ocean Mode

Dark mode for your Summary and Pixel Page: Better-looking data viz, less eye strain, and cooler screenshots to show your friends. Toggle to Ocean Mode today (see how in the GIF below).

DTC Twitter is super pumped about this one!

Historical Export for Google Sheets

Triple Whale customers using the google sheets integration can now choose a start date for any Google Sheets Sync created in the reports tab. This allows them to backfill data to their chosen start date for any continuous sync that they set up.

Previously, to get this data, a customer would have to share individual periods from the Summary page to google sheets and then merge them manually. Please note - If the customer chooses a date before we collected data (for instance, before the customer installed the Pixel), they will see "0"s in the relevant columns.

Set up your Google Sheets Sync.

In Case You Missed It (ICYMI)

Post Purchase Survey 2.0

We have made many updates to our free post-purchase survey tool over the past few months. These updates include:

  • More granular response types
  • Customized survey answers
  • Custom questions
  • Free-form responses
  • Updated Reports
  • Multi-language support
  • Custom answer attribution & Mapping

As the advertising landscape continues to evolve, zero-party data is becoming increasingly essential for brands to deliver tailored experiences and optimize their marketing strategies. Post-purchase surveys (PPS) are the key to unlocking this valuable zero-party data.

Here is a quote on the value of post-purchase surveys and zero-party data from one of our platinum agency partners:

"For growth and the quality of engagement at every single level, combining attribution data with validation from customer surveys is crucial. The customer voice tells us which channels are working and which aren't.”
Justin Buckley, Co-Founder & Partner, ATTN Agency

More Information on Triple Whale’s free post-purchase survey can be found here.

Total Impact Attribution

Triple Whale’s Total Impact Model is a holistic approach to marketing attribution. The new gold standard.

First-party data + Zero-party data + Proprietary algorithm = Total Impact Attribution Model

Click-based attribution only tells part of the story. Total Impact provides a more comprehensive view by using a multitude of data points to determine the impact of prospecting channels like TikTok and Facebook on a business.

The model works by analyzing the customer journey from the initial touchpoint to purchase and beyond. It takes into account a wide range of factors, including survey data, ad impressions, clicks, website visits, email opens, and more.

"In regards to your overall strategy of what platforms you should be pushing and what is having a big impact on your sales, we are using Total Impact to know where to put more budget, how to grow revenue more profitable, and how to get more customers.”
Spencer Pawliw, Easy A Media

Total Impact reports are also a part of Lighthouse! See them in action below:

First-party data via Pixel and zero-party data via a post-purchase survey are necessary to power the Total Impact Model. If you don’t have a post-purchase survey yet, you can:

  1. Install Triple Whale's free post-purchase survey
  2. Install & connect one of our partner Post-purchase survey tools. KnoCommerce & Fairing

Coming Soon…

To wrap up our first monthly product update, here’s a preview of what our team has been working on behind the scenes.

Enhanced Customer Journeys

We're giving customer journeys a major upgrade. Here's how:

  1. Expanded Journey Stages: Now, you can visualize the steps your customer took prior to purchase in even greater detail as we expand the maximum steps shown from 6 to 10, encompassing 90% of customer journeys.
  2. View All Data Sources: Customer Journeys will now give customers the option to include all data sources, not just integrated ones. This means your data/sources will match what your see on the Pixel-All page w/ First-Click model applied.
  3. Campaign drill down: Customers will be able to drill down from “Channel/Source” into “Campaign” to understand which campaigns are driving channel-level performance.
  4. Quick Filters: Customers can now cut through the noise and visualize customers journeys with “All” channels, “Paid” channels, or "Main" channels (paid + sms/email)

Push Notifications

We're working on a big project to bring notifications to Triple Whale, allowing customers to be notified through mobile push, desktop push, slack, or email.

Mobile push will go live first and customers with our app downloaded will be prompted to start receiving notifications. We will slowly roll out additional notifications as customer requests come in.

Activity Feed

As a part of Lighthouse, Activity Feed will show the feed of changes happening to a customer's Shopify store, Amazon, Klaviyo, Facebook, Google, other paid channels, and more.

Some examples of what may be in a customer's activity feed include new products, price changes, new campaigns, budget changes, and targeting changes to name a few.

Customers will have the ability to filter their activities, visualize them on a graph against key metrics and even create their own custom activities. The goal is to help customers better understand how their activities are impacting business performance, so they can make more informed decisions.

That's a wrap! To learn more about any of our products/features be sure to check out our Knowledge Base.
